Vanuatu Contribution Program

On December 19, 2016, in accordance with Article 13D of Chapter 117 of the Nationality Act, the Republic of Vanuatu officially legislated and passed the Nationality Regulations (Contribution Program) Ordinance No. 220 of 2016. This ordinance stipulates the specific details of the Contribution Program, aiming to raise funds through this program and attract high – quality new immigrants to promote the economic development of Vanuatu.

Applicants must make a contribution of $130,000 to the NationalDevelopment Special Account of the Vanuatu government through an authorized agent. After completing the initialcontribution, they can submit a naturalization application inaccordance with Article 13D of Chapter 112 of the Nationality Act.

After the naturalization application case goes through the reviewprocess of the Naturalization Review Committee, it can besubmitted to the Naturalization Committee for approval,enabling the applicant to become a citizen of the Republic ofVanuatu. It takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks from thesubmission of the application to becoming an official citizen ofVanuatu and obtaining a passport.

Applicant requirements

  • The principal applicant must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have no major criminal record.
  • Must have donated at least US$130,000 to the Vanuatu government (donation amounts vary depending on circumstances). Applicants may bring along their spouse, minor children, school-age children under 26, and parents of both the principal applicant and their spouse who are over 50 years old.

  • Certified passport cover (color scan of photo page).
  • Certified ID card (color scan of front and back).
  • Notarized police clearance certificate.
  • Notarized birth certificate.
  • Original proof of assets for the principal applicant (net assets must be equivalent to at least US$250,000, including securities, stocks, deposits, and real estate. Real estate requires an appraisal report).
  • Six color photos with a white background (40mm x 50mm).
  • Resume of the principal applicant.

Application Process

  • Step1: Consultation and preliminary background check, and signing of a service agreement.
  • Step2: Prepare application documents, pay the background check fee, and initiate the formal background check.
  • Step3: Pay a 30% down payment of the total fee and submit your application documents to the Vanuatu government.
  • Step4: Pay the remaining balance after the government completes its review and issues an approval letter.

Processing time: An average of 2-3 months, though this can be shortened to 2-4 weeks through some channels. This makes it one of the fastest approval cycles globally.
